Far, far away, between the border of Iran and Turkmenistan, live an ethnic group whose handwovens are famous not only in Iran, but also in the world. From the wooden loom and by the hands of hardworking female artists, exquisite silk carpets are produced that catch the eyes of every viewer. In the beautiful region of Jargalan, there lives a tribe called “Tekeh” that weaves silk carpets; Silk that is produced by the tribe itself. This self-sufficient community weaves both one-sided and two-sided silk carpets, and its handwoven art is as soft as the vernal breeze.
