Day by Day Plan

Day 1

By the first flight, you will go to Ahvaz. We will pick you up from the airport. In less than 2 hours we reach Shushtar where we are going to visit the ruins of the holy city of the Kingdom of Elam; Tchogha Zanbil founded c. 1250 B.C. Then, we will go to see one of the most amazing historical hydraulic systems of the world in Shushtar. After a short walk in the Shushtar, we are going to have lunch. You can try Persian local cuisines in Mostoufi House. Our next destination would be BABA Rouzbahan village where we are going to meet the Bakhtiari Nomads.

Day 2

After our hearty healthy nomadic breakfast, we start our 3-hour hiking in one of the most beautiful but less-known hiking trails of Iran. We are going to join the next nomad family in their winter pasture. The flowing river, fall color of leaves, the sounds of leaves crunching under our feet and finally reaching one of the most authentic nomad families are some of the highlights of the second day. Around noon, we will join the family in their beautiful pasture. Today and half of tomorrow, we will have the chance to get some hands-on experiences of nomadic life. We are going to talk to them to know more about their ancient culture, history, and stories. We are going to follow the nomad man and his son shepherding the herd of livestock. We are going to make Tiri bread (a nomadic bread) or milk the goats after the nomad woman shows us how to do it. To sum up, we are going to learn some well worth lessons from the nomads. These memorable moments are going to stick to our memory forever. At night, we can either sleep in the nomad’s black tent or our tent.

Day 3

Early in the morning, we follow the herd in the pasture. Nomads’ day starts even before the sunrise and ends with the sunset. So, today is our chance of shepherding. Watching the animals grazing, having the sounds of their bells in our ears, listening to nomadic songs, and experiencing the sunrise while we are standing on one of the Mt. Zagros ranges are once in a lifetime experiences of our second day with the nomads. After lunch, we say goodbye to the nomads and drive to Shimbar Lake and Negin waterfall to enjoy the amazing scenery of the area. For the night, we will stay in a local guest house.

Day 4

Today, we will go to Dezpart Steps. These ancient paths and steps have been used by the nomads of the area for thousands of years. It is an area of outstanding beauty especially Khoda Afarin Bridge and the historical steps. Finally, we will go to Mavarz village in Koohrang. For lunch, we will have local food in a rural house. After lunch, we will drive to Isfahan and then Tehran.
