This 35 years old rug is a classic example of a famous Turkmen rug. The red color and repetition of the famous Marigol designs are some of the prominent signatures of the original Turkmen carpet. Since the camel is a respected animal among the Turkmen tribes, this design is also known as a camel footprint. Turkmans are ancient nomads of the northeast of Iran.
